State Licensure
Baton Health monitors medical, nursing, allied health, and behavioral health licenses across all 50 states, Washington D.C., and U.S. territories. Coverage includes every clinician license type: MD, DO, NP, PA, RN, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, pharmacist, dentist, and dozens more. License status, issue dates, expiration dates, and any restrictions are tracked continuously against each state's issuing board.
DEA Registrations
Active DEA registration numbers, controlled substance schedules, expiration dates, and registered practice addresses are verified directly from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
State Controlled Substance Registrations (CDS)
In states that issue CDS registrations separately from the underlying professional license, Baton Health tracks those registrations independently as their own verification element.
Federal Sanctions and Exclusions
Baton checks both the OIG List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and the SAM debarment database (GSA). These are verified independently—a provider may appear in one and not the other, and both are required for complete federal exclusion screening.
State Medicaid Exclusions
All 50 states publish Medicaid exclusion lists. Baton Health monitors every one of them, ensuring exclusion coverage isn't limited to federal programs.
Disciplinary and Board Actions
State medical and nursing board actions, including public orders, consent agreements, and probationary terms, are tracked directly from state board sources. Board actions are distinct from license status. A license may show as active while a disciplinary order is also in effect.
NPPES Data
Provider information from the NPPES NPI registry is continuously ingested, including taxonomy codes, practice addresses, and historical record changes. NPI registry data is used both as a standalone verification element and as a cross-reference for matching provider identities across other sources.
